Adding an assignment
This tool allows you to formulate an assignment, set a deadline for it, collect answers, rate them and give feedback. The answers to assignments are presented individually (it can also be presented as a group, but it requires the creation of groups in Moodle). Only the learner and the teacher can see the submitted work, other students will not see it!
- To add an assignment click on the "Edit mode" button on the right side.
- Now menu for adding tools is available: "Add an activity or resource".
- Choose "Assignment".
In this view you have to:
- Add a name to this assignment.
- Add a description of the assignment.
- Under “Additional files” you can add files which are necessary for students to complete this assignment. For example guides, articles for reading, etc.
Under section "Availability" you should specify:
- Since when is the assignment available? Add date and time.
- What is the deadline for the assignment? Add date and time.
- In addition, you can specify the closing time of the assignment by checking "Cut-off date" line "Enable" box and adding the date and time. NB! If no closing time is added, students will be able to submit their work after "Due date", but their work will be marked as late. The "Cut-off date" can be:
- the same as the "Due date" - then the assignment closes on time and after this date the work can no longer be submitted;
- later than the "Due date" - the student receives an extension to submit the work, but is still marked as late.
- the same as the "Due date" - then the assignment closes on time and after this date the work can no longer be submitted;
- The description of the assignment can be hidden from the students before the date when the work is allowed to be submitted ("Allow submissions from"). For enabling this remove the checkmark on the box "Always show description"!
